19th International Symposium on Parallel and Distributed Computing will take place in Warsaw, Poland, in the premises of the Institute of Computer Science, Polish Academy of Sciences.

The Institute of Computer Science of the Polish Academy of Sciences (ICS PAS) is one of leading CS research centres in Poland. The mission of the Institute consists in three related tasks: conducting high-level research, teaching on the second and especially third level of higher education, and cooperation with other research centres under big IT projects. The scientific activities of ICS PAS cover a wide area of the basic research in Computer Science – from mathematical, logical and information theory foundations of Computer Science, through work in the area of parallel and distributed systems, model checking, machine learning, linguistic engineering, cryptography and information extraction from big document collections, till computational biology.
How to get to Warsaw
The best way to get to Warsaw from abroad is by plane to the Warsaw Frederic Chopin Airport (IATA code: WAW, former name: Warszawa-OkÄ™cie International Airport). The airport is located 10 km away from the city center, so it is quite easy to reach the city center by direct public transport, e.g. bus lines 175, 188, 148, or fast urban trains (SKM – lines S2 and S3), or taxi.
